Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

ByteShift is a browser-first file conversion service. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use the Website and how your choices affect optional cookies and similar technologies.

1. Local File Processing

ByteShift conversions are designed to run locally in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to ByteShift servers for conversion, and we do not collect or store the contents of files you process.

2. Cookies and Consent

We use CookieYes as our consent management platform. Necessary storage may be used to operate the Website and remember your consent choice. Optional analytics and advertising technologies remain disabled unless you explicitly allow the relevant categories.

Google Consent Mode v2 is configured with ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization denied by default. If you reject or ignore the consent banner, those optional signals remain denied. You can change your choice through the CookieYes consent settings when available.

3. Google Analytics

If enabled, Google Analytics may process limited usage and device information such as page views, approximate location, browser information, and performance events. Google Analytics is subject to your consent choice and Google's own privacy terms. We do not send file contents or conversion data to Google Analytics.

4. Google AdSense

We may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and limit advertising, and to prevent fraud. Personalized advertising and related processing are subject to your consent and applicable law. These providers do not receive access to the files you convert.

You can review Google's partner-site privacy information and manage personalization through Ads Settings.

5. GDPR Notice

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, optional analytics and advertising processing is based on your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time through the consent settings. You may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because conversion is local, ByteShift generally does not hold the files you process.

6. CCPA/CPRA Notice

California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, subject to legal exceptions. ByteShift does not sell the contents of your files. Optional advertising or analytics technologies may involve sharing online identifiers or activity information with providers for measurement or advertising, and you can control those technologies through the consent banner.

7. Other Information

Hosting, security, fonts, and infrastructure providers may receive standard browser request information needed to deliver the Website. We may also receive aggregate or technical information about Website performance. This information does not include the contents of your converted files.

8. Contact

If you have a privacy question or want to exercise a privacy right, please use the contact information provided on the Website. We may need to verify your request before responding.
